Layers of violence: a comparative study of policing in Rio de Janeiro and in Recife

Marta-Laura Suska, a fellow at BRICS Policy Center and PhD student in Cultural Anthropology at University of Wisconsin-Madison, works on BRICS-Urbe project and presented the Conference “Layers of violence: a comparative study of policing in Rio de Janeiro and in Recife” on November 18, 2014. There were present at the Conference representatives of the Pereira Passos Institute, representatives of the Military Police of the State of Rio de Janeiro, researchers and interns of the BRICS Policy Center, and undergraduate students of the International Relations Institute of PUC-Rio. Marta-Laura was part of a partnership between the BRICS Policy Center and the Igarapé Institute.
