On August 28, 2023, the BRICS Policy Center welcomed Italian-British student Marina Ristuccia, a student at Balliol College at the University of Oxford. Marina will be in Rio de Janeiro at the end of August and beginning of September and will be doing a voluntary internship with the Center for Research on Contemporary Slavery, coordinated by Professor Silvia Pinheiro. Marina’s research project will be: “Spaces of vulnerability and resistance: an undergraduate thesis on space, settlement and slavery in Brazil”.
