☕ Coming up next week: join the 14th edition of Café com BRICS.

On July 16 at 4:00 PM, the Socio-environmental Platform of the BRICS Policy Center will host the 14th edition of Café com BRICS—a space for dialogue and exchange regarding key topics on the international agenda.

In this edition, we will discuss the main advances, challenges, and impasses arising from the climate negotiations held in Bonn, Germany, this past June. These meetings at the UN Climate Convention headquarters in Bonn take place annually and serve as a crucial preparatory stage for the COPs. It is during this time that many of the topics slated for the year-end conference begin to be negotiated, making Bonn an important barometer for the COP. At the Café, we will discuss the outcomes of these negotiations and what to expect for COP31, taking place in Turkey this November.

The roundtable will feature:

Priscilla Papagiannis, Coordinator of the Climate Working Group at the Brazilian Network for the Integration of Peoples (Rebrip);
João Victor Sooma, Popular Educator at the Center for Policies and Alternatives (NuPA/FASE);
Carolina Alves, Policy Advisor at the Institute for Socioeconomic Studies (Inesc);
Maria Beatriz Mello, Research Assistant at the BRICS Policy Center’s Socio-environmental Platform.
