BPC receives PET-IRI/PUC-Rio’s Workshop

The Workshop promoted by PET-IRI/PUC-Rio was a thematic biannual event of the PET/TEPP scientific initiation program, consisting of presentations related to the research operated in the first half of 2023. In addition to the presentation of a product made by the students of the program and a debate between them on the last day of the event, we also had the presence of guests to dialogue with the public on the issues raised by the theme worked by the students. In this case, the theme was South-South Cooperation from below, focusing on different practices and actors beyond the State. Thus, the Workshop was divided into two days with different tables. The first day was composed by the speeches of the program coordinator and professor Isabel Rocha de Siqueira and the professor and director of the BRICS Policy Center, Ana Saggioro Garcia. In addition, PET students presented the Collective Report prepared throughout the semester with the title “South-South Cooperation and Food (In)security”. On the second day, we had the participation of guests composing three thematic panels. The first thematic panel was on Political Participation, with the presence of Sandra Quintela (PACS Institute and Rede Jubileu) and Bruno França (FASE), The second panel dealt with the issue of Housing, with the participation of Felipe Nin (UNMP-RJ), Aercio Oliveira (FASE), and Gláucia Nascimento (MTST). Finally, the last panel addressed the theme of the Environment with the speech of Renata Albuquerque (UFABC).
