Researchers Carlos Frederico Coelho and Paulo Esteves, from the BRICS Policy Center/PUC-Rio, participated in the launch event for the third report on emerging middle powers—*Emerging Middle Powers Report 2025: Momentum for Middle Powers!*—held in partnership with the Körber-Stiftung. The study analyzes the role of emerging middle powers within an international landscape characterized by growing geopolitical fragmentation and the reconfiguration of the global order.
The report gathers insights from approximately one thousand experts and foreign policy practitioners from Brazil, Germany, India, Indonesia, and South Africa. It highlights themes such as strategic autonomy, international cooperation, and the challenges middle powers face amidst transformations in global governance.
