BPC/PUC-Rio researchers Marta Fernández and Paulo Esteves are participating in the 1st BRICS+ International Symposium.
Marta Fernández, Director of the BRICS Policy Center/PUC-Rio, and Paulo Esteves, a researcher at the BPC/PUC -Rio, Paulo Esteves, participated in the First International BRICS+ Symposium, a joint initiative of the BRICS Study Group at the University of São Paulo (GEBRICS/USP) and the BRICS Observatory at the Federal University of Latin American Integration (UNILA), aimed at broadening and enriching the debate on the role of BRICS in the contemporary global landscape.
On June 16, Marta Fernández participated in the panel “Dynamics and Architecture of Global Power” alongside Jonnas Vasconcelos (UFBA), discussing how BRICS+ fits into the processes of reconfiguring the international order and the transformations of global power structures.
On June 17, Paulo Esteves participated in the panel “NDB and Infrastructure Financing” alongside Rafael Voigtel (GEBRICS/USP), with whom he discussed the significance, challenges, and limitations of financing provided by the New Development Bank (NDB) for infrastructure projects in the Global South.
