The BRICS Policy Center (BPC/PUC-Rio) invites you to the meeting “Global Governance in Transformation: Perspectives from the BRICS Countries,” which will be held on June 16, 2026, at 2:30 PM, in the Rio DataCentro (RDC) Auditorium at PUC-Rio. The event will feature the participation of Andrei Petrov (Consul General of the Russian Federation in Rio de Janeiro), Leulseged Tadese Abebe (Ambassador of Ethiopia to Brazil), Tian Min (Consul of China in Rio de Janeiro), and Maria Elena Rodriguez (BPC/PUC-Rio), for an exchange of perspectives on the ongoing transformations in the international order and their impacts on international cooperation, development, and global governance.

In a scenario marked by changes in the distribution of economic and political power, the rise of new global actors, and the need for coordinated responses to common challenges, BRICS has consolidated itself as an important space for dialogue, coordination, and cooperation among countries of the Global South. The meeting will promote reflection on the challenges and opportunities for the grouping in the coming years, addressing topics such as the reform of global governance and multilateral institutions, the environment, development financing, economic and technological cooperation, South-South cooperation, and the strengthening of multilateralism.
