BRICS Policy Center / PUC-Rio Receives Delegation of Italian Professors and Students from Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna

This Friday (February 27th), the BRICS Policy Center/PUC-Rio received a visit from a delegation of professors and undergraduate and graduate students from Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna, an Italian public university based in Pisa and recognized for its excellence in the areas of international relations, public policy, and global governance.

The delegation was received by the director of the BRICS Policy Center, Marta Fernandez, the administrative coordinator Lia Lopes, and the researcher Marcello Cappucci.

During the meeting, the functioning of the BRICS Policy Center, its institutional trajectory, and the main lines of research developed by the center were presented, as well as a historical overview of the formation and evolution of the BRICS group. Topics related to South-South cooperation, global governance, and international politics, areas of common interest between the two institutions, were also discussed.

Finally, the BPC programs focused on internationalization were presented, including volunteer internship opportunities for foreign students and the fellowship program. The possibility of resuming and strengthening an academic cooperation agreement between PUC-Rio and the Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna was also discussed, with possibilities to expanding the exchange of students and researchers.
