BRICS Policy Center/PUC-Rio signs cooperation agreement with DAKSHIN – Global South Centre of Excellence, linked to the Research and Information System for Developing Countries (RIS), in India
The BRICS Policy Center/PUC-Rio has signed another international cooperation agreement. The partnership is with DAKSHIN- Global South Centre of Excellence, linked to the Research and Information System for Developing Countries (RIS) in India.
The name DAKSHIN, which means South in Hindi, serves as an acronym for Development and Knowledge Sharing Initiative, reflecting the institution’s mission: to assist actors and institutions in identifying and implementing practical, scalable, and sustainable solutions to the challenges of economic and social development in countries of the Global South.
DAKSHIN will play a strategic role in accelerating and articulating development in the Global South, driving the implementation of the 2030 Agenda and the internalization of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
This cooperation agreement aims to formalize the institutional partnership between the two parties to promote mutually beneficial cooperation and collaboration in the areas of knowledge of both parties, in the following areas: Collaborative research projects; dialogues, meetings, workshops, seminars, conferences or joint events; exchange; dissemination of knowledge through joint publications, among others.
