BRICS Policy Center/PUC-Rio welcomed Nicolas Olivier, head of the Regional Delegation of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), to its headquarters.

We were pleased to welcome Nicolas Olivier, Head of the Regional Delegation of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), to the BRICS Policy Center/PUC-Rio, accompanied by Ananda Osório, Policy and Humanitarian Diplomacy Adviser. The meeting provided an opportunity to strengthen institutional dialogue and to promote an initial exchange of perspectives on issues that directly intersect with the BRICS agenda and the ICRC’s humanitarian mandate, including global governance, the humanitarian impacts of armed conflicts and other situations of violence, food security, the protection of vulnerable populations, and the role of BRICS countries in international debates related to these issues. We thank the ICRC for the visit and for the constructive dialogue, and we remain available to further deepen areas of convergence and future cooperation.
