BPC/PUC-Rio receives a visit from Prof. Ulrich Klüh and Prof. Katrin Luise Läzer, from the University of Darmstadt

On September 2 of 2025, BRICS Policy Center (BPC/PUC-Rio) Director Marta Fernández, along with Deputy Director Maria Elena Rodrigues and researcher Jimmy Casas Klausen, welcomed Prof. Ulrich Klüh and Prof. Katrin Luise Läzer to the Institute of International Relations at PUC-Rio (IRI/PUC-Rio).
Professor Ulrich Klüh is a professor of International Political Economy and Political Ecology at the University of Darmstadt in Germany, where she also directs the Center for Sustainable Economic and Business Policy. Prof. Katrin Luise Läzer is a full professor in the Department of Social and Cultural Sciences and Social Work at the same institution, where she coordinates the Chair of Clinical Psychology of Childhood and Adolescence. Her academic work stands out in the area of ​​psychosocial interventions with children and adolescents in multicultural contexts, with research on the impacts of trauma and strategies for welcoming and integrating refugee populations. She also leads international academic and social cooperation projects with countries such as Ghana and Cambodia, in addition to developing studies on innovative social work methods and psychoanalytic psychotherapy.
During the meeting, topics of common interest were discussed, including joint research projects and initiatives focused on sustainability, global governance, and social inclusion. The visit was part of the Hochschule Darmstadt delegation’s program to Brazil, which included meetings at PUC-Rio with various departments and research centers, strengthening international collaboration ties and expanding opportunities for strategic partnerships.
