
BRICS in Transition: From the Brazilian to the Indian Presidency
On August 8th at 10 a.m., the BRICS Policy Center/PUC-Rio will host a debate on the BRICS leadership transition, featuring researcher Manuel Gonzalo and comments by BPC Director Marta Fernández.
Manuel Gonzalo is the coordinator of the Working Group on India and a member of the BRICS+ Working Group at the Argentine Council on International Relations. With over 20 years of experience in teaching, research, and consultancy, his work focuses on economic development in Global South countries. He is also the author of the book India from Latin America: Peripherisation, Statebuilding, and Demand-led Growth (Routledge).
The discussion will address expectations for the upcoming Summit in India and the challenges that may arise in this new cycle of leadership.
