The researcher from the BRICS Policy Center, Ana Garcia, gave an interview to the newspaper O GLOBO
In an interview with O Globo, Ana Garcia, a professor at the Federal Rural University of Rio de Janeiro and an associate researcher at the BPC, discussed the “politically less ambitious” agenda of Brazil’s BRICS presidency for the 2025 Summit. She stated that “the major achievement of Brazil’s presidency would be progress in the institutionalization of BRICS” following the bloc’s expansion. Additionally, when addressing the goal of “expanding trade,” Brazil chose to follow a more consensual agenda. Reducing the use of the dollar in international financial transactions and implementing the Contingent Reserve Arrangement (CRA) are more ambitious objectives, she pointed out.
