On 2 October, BRICS Policy Center researchers Prof. Marta Fenandéz and Prof. Carlos Frederico received a visit from the Shanghai Institutes for International Studies (SIIS) at its headquarters in Laranjeiras. The delegation included the vice-president of SIIS, LI Kaisheng; former BPC fellow and Director of the Institute of Foreign Policy Studies, NIU Haibin; Deputy Director of the Department of Think Tank Development and Research Management, MAO Ruipeng and assistant researcher at the Centre for American Studies and the Institute of Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macau Studies, LAI Yuan, who talked during the visit about bilateral relations between Brazil and China and the development of BRICS+.
Over the past six decades, SIIS has played a key role in international politics, economics, security and other related fields and has become an important institution that informs and shapes China’s foreign policy and global engagement, being recognised as one of the most influential think tanks in China and the world.
