The BRICS Policy Center director, Marta Fernández gave an interview to the Swedish newspaper Dagens Nyheter, analyzing the expansion of the BRICS alliance and its relationship with the United States and the European Union.

Marta points out that, with Western relations with Russia and China worsening, Brazil, the largest country in the Southern Hemisphere, is emerging as a potential mediator to ease geopolitical polarization.

The director also points out that Brazil has a tradition of neutrality in conflicts, and its position as one of the few democracies in the BRICS could be decisive in any major conflicts between the West and the BRICS.
