Marta Fernández attends W20 delegation meeting

Professor Marta Fernández, director of the BRICS Policy Center, took part in the meeting of the W20 (Women 20) delegation, an independent G20 engagement group for women’s economic empowerment and gender equality. The event entitled “UK + Brazil cooperation for women’s empowerment and gender equality” took place at the Palácio da Cidade, organized by the UK Embassy and Consulate, in partnership with the W20 delegation, the Ministry of Women’s Affairs and representatives of the municipal and state governments of Rio de Janeiro. The invitation was made by the UK Ambassador to Brazil, Stephanie Al-Qaq, and was aimed at promoting dialogue with the W20 in the commitment to the centrality of the gender agenda in G20 debates and recommendations.
