Delhi Process V International Conference brings together experts to discuss South-South and Triangular Cooperation
On August 22 and 23, 2019, BPC Director, Dr. Paulo Esteves, attended the Delhi Process V International Conference that took take place on the theme, “South-South and Triangular Cooperation: Exploring New Opportunities and New Partnerships Post-BAPA+40” at the India Habitat Centre in New Delhi. The event was organized by the think tank Research and Information System for Developing Countries (RIS) with the support of the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India, UN Office for South-South Cooperation (UNOSSC), Network of Southern Think Tanks (NeST), Forum for Indian Development Cooperation (FIDC) and other partners.
The Conference focused attention on issues of critical interest and importance to the Global South and came up with meaningful and effective strategies for enhanced South-South Cooperation. On August 23rt, Paulo Esteves attended the plenary session “New Industrial Revolution, Future of Work and Scope for Cooperation”, in which he discussed new technologies and their impacts on the Global South development, given the growing disruptive technologies. Esteves also presented his analysis on the Unequal distribution in access to advanced resources and technologies, as well as the slow and inefficient dissemination of knowledge and skills around the world to meet the goals of sustainable development.
