Expert on public policy financialization taught debate at BRICS Policy Center

On August 15, 2019, Professor Lena Lavinas, Expert on public policy financialization and current professor at UFRJ (Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro) taught the lecture “The public policy financialization: consequences to the welfare state”. The event aimed to discuss the conceptualization of the financialization process, the operation of financial markets and institutions, and also their effects. Other than that, Lavinas presented her analysis of the Brazilian financialization case, approaching the democratization of finance as a global strategy.

The end of the event was followed by an open debate between the guests and Lavinas regarding the themes presented during the lecture.
