The Director of IRI, Professor Isabel Rocha de Siqueira, participated in the G20 Partners Exchange meeting

The Director of IRI, Professor Isabel Rocha de Siqueira, participated in the G20 Partners Exchange meeting, organized by the Ford Foundation, in Cape Town, South Africa, on May 29 and 30. She represented the BRICS Policy Center, IRI/PUC-Rio, which has been engaged in the G20 agenda with the support of the Foundation.

On May 30, she was part of the panel Beyond 2025 – Keeping the Work Alive In and Beyond the G20, alongside Laura Alfers, WIEGO, International Coordinator; Martha Tukahirwa, FIA, Regional Coordinator Africa; Ana Luisa Queiroz, Institute for Alternative Policies for the Southern Cone, Coordinator; and Neo Mofokeng, UN Women, Programme Analyst.

The panel discussed how to sustain momentum in G20 engagement following Brazil’s Presidency, how to preserve the institutional memory of the work carried out by civil society and academia, and how to ensure continued advocacy with the South African and U.S. Presidencies in 2025 and 2026, respectively.
