The Deputy Director of the BRICS Policy Center, Maria Elena Rodriguez, participated in the seminar “Opportunities and Challenges for Brazil in the New International Geopolitical Context”

On April 3rd, Maria Elena Rodriguez, Deputy Director of the BPC, took part in the seminar “Opportunities and Challenges for Brazil in the New International Geopolitical Context,” organized by the Joaquín Herrera Flores Institute, the Marielle Franco Program, and the Human Rights Secretariat of Maricá.

In her speech, Rodriguez reflected on the possibilities and challenges facing BRICS, considering that the world is in constant transformation. She addressed the emergence of the term and the formation of the BRICS group, as well as the creation of the New Development Bank. She highlighted the bloc’s maturation as a political and economic alternative to the multilateral institutions established in Bretton Woods. Furthermore, she emphasized the group’s importance in today’s global landscape, and its role in building a new international order.
