“The climate ambition of the BRICS” study workshop

On July 29th, a workshop was held as part of the Socio-Environmental Platform project entitled “The climate ambition of the BRICS”. During the event, five studies focused on five BRICS countries (Brazil, India, China, Russia and South Africa) were presented and discussed, presenting the countries’ main positions in climate negotiations, their emissions profiles and main climate initiatives. Experts and researchers in the field of climate change commented on the results of the studies, which will be published throughout this year. In addition, the project participants shared the challenges faced in obtaining consistent and up-to-date data and the methodologies employed.
