FOCAC and Chinese Development Aid in Africa
In the field of development aid, there is a trend of traditional donors losing of centrality and an increasing importance of emerging countries with new aid practices, particularly in the absence of conditionality on granting aid. In the midst of this scenario, on one hand, the BRICS countries, particularly Brazil, India and China, stand out in these new cooperation practices. On the other hand, the relative weight of the African continent as recipient of the aid from emerging countries attracts attenntion.
