Brazil and China: building convergences in the G20 process

Chinese President Xi Jinping is in Brazil – from November 17 to 21 – for the G20 Summit, after participating in the APEC (Asia-Pacific Economic Forum) economic leaders’ meeting in Peru, from the 13 to the 17. Xi’s presence in these two consecutive forums held in Latin America highlights the growing importance that the Chinese president has been giving to the region, which already has 21 countries in the initiative popularly known as the New Silk Road (Belt and Road Initiative, BRI).
