Promoting BRICS governance reform: Interview with Professor Ana Garcia for Paper People

On August 29, Ana Garcia, professor and general coordinator of the BRICS Policy center, gave an interview to Paper People about bilateral cooperation within the BRICS, with a focus on Brazil’s relationship with China. The professor emphasizes the importance of the bloc as a platform for strengthening emerging and developing countries and that its expansion is essential for reforming the global governance system. Regarding the Brazil-China relationship, Ana highlighted the deepened partnership during President Lula’s visit to China in April, during which they discussed trade, poverty reduction and especially issues related to science, technology and the energy industry. “It is hoped that the two sides will further strengthen cooperation in the field of clean energy and help Brazil’s energy transformation and development,” she said.
