Gender, peace and security

Research associated with this area are situated in contemporary debates on gender and sustainable peace, advancing an investigation of the construction and implementation of the “Women, Peace and Security” (WPS) agenda in Latin America. Through a critical reflection on the paradigms of inclusivity and representation promoted by the WPS agenda, this research maps and analyzes initiatives that operationalize the United Nations Security Council Resolution 1325, including the National Action Plans (NAP) approved in the region. Thus, this research agenda analyses the contents and processes of formulation and implementation of NAPs, identifying their main limitations and lessons learned for building sustainable peace in the region.
