CURA

CURA

CURA is a research program dedicated to investigating how culture and heritage serve as fundamental pillars for understanding and transforming international relations in the 21st century, prioritizing the perspectives of the Global South. The initiative analyzes symbolic productions, collective memories, and cultural assets as arenas marked by disputes, but also as potential spaces for dialogue, historical reparation, and the construction of shared futures. Using the concept of “restorative justice” as a guiding lens, the program examines how cultural processes can contribute to restoring broken social bonds and how heritage policies can play a role in redressing past injustices. The research also aims to understand the role of South-South cultural cooperation in rebalancing global flows of narrative and power. In this way, CURA seeks to explore the transformative potential of culture beyond entertainment, positioning it as a vital field for diplomacy, the exercise of citizenship, and the promotion of historical justice.
