On October 9, 2024, the BRICS Policy Center, in partnership with the Southern Centre for Inequality Studies (SCIS), held the webinar “Addressing Systemic Inequality Through an Urban Lens”. As an official side event of the G20/U20, the meeting brought together academic and community voices to discuss systemic inequality and its impact on urban areas.

Lasting two hours, the event featured experts from Brazil, South Africa, India and the United States, as well as contributions from grassroots organizations such as the Papo Reto Institute. The discussions focused on SCIS research on wealth inequality and its relevance in the context of the Global South.

This webinar represented an important step towards collaborative initiatives between SCIS and the BRICS Policy Center, setting the stage for future dialogues towards the G20 Summit in 2025.
