Renato Bignami holds a doctorate in Labor Law and Social Security from the Complutense University of Madrid, a master’s degree in Labor Law from the University of São Paulo and a law degree from the same institution. He was deputy secretary of labor inspection, head of the Labor Inspection Unit of the State of São Paulo, of the Regional Superintendence of Labor and Employment in São Paulo and technical advisor to the Secretariat of Labor Inspection, of the Ministry of Labor and Employment, in Brasília. He was a Technical Specialist in Occupational Health and Safety at the Regional Office for Latin America and the Caribbean of the International Labor Organization (ILO), covering 33 countries in the region. He was coordinator of the State Program for the Eradication of Slave Labor, coordinator of the State Program for the Eradication of Child Labor and coordinator of education and training for labor inspectors, all within the scope of the Regional Superintendence of Labor and Employment in São Paulo. He has extensive international experience, representing Brazil and the labor inspectorate in various forums and areas of activity, notably in matters related to labor inspection and public labor administration. He also has academic experience in the field of law, with an emphasis on labor law, public labor administration and labor inspection. Throughout his career, he has participated in various debates, forums, Parliamentary Commissions of Inquiry and seminars.
