Paulo Illes

Paulo Illes is the executive director of CDHIC and 4Rs Consultoria em Migração e Refúgio. He has worked for over 30 years to defend the rights of migrants and refugees in Brazil and abroad. He was migration policy coordinator at São Paulo City Hall and at the Ministry of Justice, where he helped create laws, programs and service centers, such as CRAI. He has led initiatives such as Comigrar, the National Network of Welcoming Cities and the Migration Alliance project in France. He is an author, speaker, advisor and participates in films and documentaries dealing with human mobility. His work covers the local, national and international levels.
