President of the Escola Sem Muros Association – Eco Group – an institution that has been working in the Santa Marta favela since 1978;

Advisor to the Dictionary of Favelas Marielle Franco (WikiFAVELAS) and the Network of Security Observatories – Rio de Janeiro (Cesec).

He is a member of the Citizenship University (UC/UFRJ) team;

Social activist, member of the Favelas Movement in Rio de Janeiro since the late 70s;

Coordinator at the Brazilian Institute of Social and Economic Analysis – IBASE, from 2003 to 2018;

Coordinator and director of the Bento Rubião Human Rights Foundation from 1992 to 2002;

Employee of Banco do Brasil from 1982 to 2000.
