Monica Herz, a researcher at the GSUM of the BRICS Policy Center at PUC-Rio, took part in a BRICS Workshop hosted by Brazil’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Itamaraty)

On Tuesday, December 16, the Itamaraty hosted the BRICS Workshop on Mediation, bringing together representatives from BRICS member countries and other nations to discuss how mediation can transform the way international conflicts are addressed.

Professor Monica Herz, a researcher at the GSUM of the BRICS Policy Center at PUC-Rio, participated in the discussions, which highlighted the growing role of mediation as a tool for conflict prevention and resolution.

On the occasion, the Special Advisor to the Presidency of the Republic, Ambassador Celso Amorim, emphasized how the Global South contributes unique perspectives, experiences, and practices to the international debate on peace and security.
