Maureen Santos, coordinator of the BPC/PUC-Rio Socioenvironmental Platform, wrote an article for the COP Central website about “The Voice from the Arches.” In the article, she announces that the People’s Summit for Climate Justice will be held from November 12th to 16th in Belém, bringing together more than 20,000 participants from social movements, organizations, and traditional communities from Brazil and around the world.

The program includes workshops, discussion groups, tribunals, and assemblies at the Federal University of Pará, as well as a large march on the 15th with the presence of Indigenous and Quilombola leaders, as well as unions, social movements, and other traditional communities from Brazil and abroad. The meeting will conclude with an Amazonian banquet and the delivery of a final declaration to the COP30 President, Ambassador André Corrêa do Lago, and other authorities.
