Marta Fernández, Director of the BRICS Policy Center at PUC-Rio, participated in the BRICS People’s Forum on July 4th

During the BRICS People’s Forum, which took place at the Carlos Gomes Theater on July 4th, Professor Marta Fernández presented an analysis of the transition from the liberal international order to a multipolar paradigm, with a particular focus on the role of the BRICS in this process and its implications for global governance. According to Professor Fernández, the BRICS are seen as agents challenging the liberal international order and represent historically marginalized countries. She also discussed the need for a new multipolar order that addresses inequalities and promotes inclusion. However, she warned about the internal inequalities within BRICS countries and emphasized the need for popular mobilization.
