On September 8, Ana Garcia, professor and PhD in International Relations at IRI/PUC-Rio, published an article on the Latinoamérica 21 platform about the recent expansion of the BRICS.

Ana emphasizes the growing geopolitical character of the group, reinforced by its own expansion and by events in international politics in recent years, such as the technological disputes between the US and China, the Chinese alliance with Russia and the Russian invasion of Ukraine. She also explores the various possible perspectives for analyzing the group, including looking at intra-bloc relations, relations with other developing countries, international security, the international division of labor, as well as the opportunities and challenges for Brazil in the bloc.
