Interview with Kristoffer Lidén

On May 28, 2018, the Global South Unit for Mediation (GSUM, IRI/PUC-Rio) interviewed Kristoffer Lidén, from the Peace Research Institute Oslo (PRIO). He answered the following questions:

00:08 How do international peace operations relate conceptually to sovereignty and intervention?

03:09 Who is to blame when a peace process fails? Should international peacemakers be held accountable for failure?

Kristoffer Lidén was in Rio for the workshop “Peace Operations and Peace Agreements: Experiences from the Global South”, held by GSUM at the BRICS Policy Center, in partnership with the Columbia Global Centers | Rio de Janeiro and with Columbia University School of Professional Studies. The event was mediated by Dr. José Pascal da Rocha. He also participated in the seminar “The Global South and Peace Operations: Contemporary debates on conflict, violence, intervention and reconstruction”, at IRI/PUC-Rio.

GSUM is an initiative of the Institute of International Relations of the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro through the BRICS Policy Center.
