Inaugural event of the “Instantaneous” series discusses the trade agreement between Mercosur-UE

On August 28th, BRICS Policy Center organized the inaugural event of the “Instant Debates” series, which will bring monthly analysis concerning the international conjuncture, bringing together academics, representatives of civil society, the private sector, political leaders and the press. The series began with a debate on the “MERCOSUR – European Union Agreement”, with contributions presented by Sandra Polónia Rios (CINDES), Marcelo Nonnenberg (IPEA / PUC-Rio) and the also by several Institutions representatives in Rio de Janeiro.

The event discussed the evolution of Brazil’s trade policies, some characteristics of the Agreement itself, and different perspectives on how to analyze the gains and losses of the Agreement for MERCOSUR and international trade.
