Director of the BRICS Policy Center, Marta Fernández, Contributed to the Dossier “BRICS+ and the Sovereign Future of the Global South,” Organized by REBRIP
The dossier “BRICS+ and the Sovereign Future of the Global South,” organized by REBRIP, was launched in Brasília during the event “Rising BRICS,” held at the Darcy Ribeiro Memorial (UnB). The publication brings together 10 articles offering critical analyses and concrete proposals for the agenda of Brazil’s BRICS+ presidency in 2025.
Among the texts, the contribution by BRICS Policy Center Director Marta Fernández, co-authored with Graciela Rodriguez, Director of REBRIP, stands out. In their article, the authors propose pathways to strengthen the institutional framework of BRICS+, focusing on expanding social participation, building a more democratic global governance system, and consolidating the group as a strategic political platform for the Global South. The contribution advocates for the creation of mechanisms that ensure transparency and active civil society engagement in the bloc’s decision-making processes.
