The BRICS Policy Center welcomes visiting researcher Renato Bignami, who holds a PhD in labor law and social security from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid. Renato will contribute to the projects of the Center for Research on Contemporary Slavery between November 2023 and March 2024. During the fellowship, Dr. Bignami will publish an article on accountability in supply chains for violations of fundamental labor rights in the light of recent decisions by the labor judiciary. In addition to delivering the paper, the intention is to hold an event debating the issue of the protection of fundamental labor rights and the level of implementation of the OECD guidelines by companies.
