BRICS Policy Center researchers Prof. Carlos Frederico Coelho and Prof. Kai Kenkel met with the CEO of the US think tank Center for a New American Security (CNA), Mr. Richard Fontane and researcher Ms. Gibbs McKinley on October 18. Among the topics covered in the conversation were Brazil’s role on the world stage, the relationship between Brazil and the US, the BRICS bloc and its expansion, security, trade and international politics. This is the second time Mr. Fontane has visited the BRICS Policy Center. Prof. Carlos Frederico presented the foreign visitors with the “report” Listening Beyond the Echo Chamber Emerging Middle Powers Report 2024, which was produced as a result of interviews with more than 1000 experts from three emerging middle powers (India, Brazil and South Africa), as well as Germany. The publication answers several of the questions raised during the meeting.
