BRICS Policy Center researcher Carlos Frederico Coelho gave an interview to Bom Dia Brasil

BRICS Policy Center researcher Carlos Frederico Coelho gave an interview to Bom Dia Brasil in which he discussed the differences between the Chinese political system and Western democracies, emphasizing that the Chinese government is less susceptible to external criticism and pressure.

He also noted that Donald Trump appears to be more sensitive to such factors, which has led to more unstable positions in trade disputes. As an example, Carlos Frederico recalled that following the financial market downturn in April, Trump backtracked and announced a 90-day suspension of tariffs—except for those imposed on China. However, even with this partial truce, the remaining tariffs may still contribute to rising inflation and a slowdown in the U.S. economy.
