BRICS Policy Center/PUC-Rio researcher Isabel Rocha de Siqueira participated in the panel “Where next? Future directions for equitable and inclusive digital transformation,” held during the T20 Summit South Africa.
The panel brought together several experts who discussed future directions for a more equitable and inclusive digital transformation. During her intervention, Isabel addressed central themes for global digital governance, highlighting that the G20 is not the only space where these debates take place, but that the South African presidency is part of a constellation of forums dedicated to digital transformation, especially focusing on the global majority and the Global South. Based on her experience in BRICS and the T20, she also reflected on the future roles of these bodies and the challenges necessary for both to face current geopolitical trends, maintaining a commitment to equality and inclusion in the advancement of digital technologies.
