BRICS Policy Center director Marta Fernández and deputy director María Elena Rodríguez wrote an article for Latinoamérica21 to discuss the impacts of the Trump administration on Latin America. The article was also published in the newspaper El Independiente and in Folha de São Paulo.
The researchers analyzed how the new US administration could intensify the dispute with China in Latin America, using trade tariffs as a tool of coercion. Both emphasize that the region must unite in order not to be just a supplier of commodities and to strengthen its autonomy.
