BPC participates in the T20 Panel at the “Global Conference – Retrofit for Purpose: Reforming the International Financial Architecture”
In the run-up to the G20 meeting, T20 – the engagement group that brings together think tanks and research centers – is taking part this week in the “Global Conference – Retrofit for Purpose: Reforming the International Financial Architecture”. The event will bring together experts from around the world, from Wednesday (07/08) to Friday (09/08), to debate the reform of the international financial architecture. It is organized by the International Development Economics Associate, an international network of economists, and UFRJ.
The reform of the international financial architecture is about proposals for financial institutions and mechanisms that can meet the world’s current challenges, such as the climate and digital areas, with more equitable access to finance for all countries, for example.
Within the event, the T20 is responsible for the panel “What can the G20 do?”, on Thursday (08/07), with BRICS Policy Center researcher and co-leader of T20 Task Force 3, Ana Garcia, and experts Ernani Torres, professor at the UFRJ Institute of Economics, Farwa Sial, Gilad Isaacs and Matias Vernengo.
The event will also feature other members of Task Force 3, such as BRICS Policy Center researcher Lucas Carames, co-leader Haihong Gao, Ernani Torres, from UFRJ, Maria Antonieta Lins, from USP, Fernanda Feil, from UFF, Marina Zucker, from the Global Policy Center at Boston University, and Iyabo Masha, from the G-24.
