BPC Opina: “The Effects of Trump’s Economic Measures on the Global Economy”

In the 11th episode of the BPC Opina series, Professor Luciana Badin, from IRI/PUC-Rio, analyzes the impacts of the Trump administration’s protectionist measures on the global economy.

Professor Luciana highlights the interdependence between the Chinese and U.S. economies: while American companies profit from production on Chinese soil, China relies on the U.S. consumer market to distribute its products. Furthermore, the United States is also dependent on exports of strategic minerals controlled by China, making a balanced negotiation between the two powers essential.
