BPC Director Marta Fernández and Professor Ana Saggioro Garcia Featured in Institutional Videos by IPEA

Continuing the work carried out during the thematic workshops promoted by IPEA — which brought together over 40 experts to discuss strategic recommendations aligned with the five priority areas defined by the BRICS for 2025 — the proposals will be consolidated and submitted to the BRICS Think Tank Council (BTTC).

In the theme of Institutional Development, Professor Marta Fernández pointed out that BRICS currently suffers from digital fragmentation, which undermines its institutional identity. In this regard, she proposed the creation of an official website for the bloc, the establishment of a troika — composed of the current, previous, and incoming presidency — and the public disclosure of countries applying to join the group.

Professor Ana Garcia, who addressed the theme of Trade, Investment, and Finance, noted that intra-BRICS trade is heavily centered on China, especially in primary products (agricultural and mineral commodities). Therefore, she recommended the promotion of international trade aimed at boosting industrialization, supporting small and medium-sized enterprises, and generating quality employment.
