BNDES and long-term financing: for which model of development?
On November 13 and 14, the Brazilian Institute of Social and Economic Analysis (Ibase), with the support of the Ford Foundation and the Mott Foundation, organized the seminar “BNDES and long-term financing: for which model of development?” Rio de Janeiro. The BRICS Policy Center was represented with the participation of its General Supervisor, Prof. Paulo Esteves, and the researcher of the Socioambiental Platform,Prof. Maria Elena Rodriguez. .
The seminar brought together various experts who dealt with issues such as: The national context and the role of a public development finance agency in different scenarios; PPI and PPPs in Brazil; the BNDES relationship and multilateral financing agencies; the Chinese investments (presented by Prof. Paulo Esteves); the identification of commonalities and the possibility of an impact strategy on development finance; priorities for the future; among others.
