Ana Garcia, a researcher at BRICS Policy Center, gave an interview to Le Monde Diplomatique Brasil through TV PUC São Paulo and TVT network, discussing Brazil’s challenges within the BRICS amid Donald Trump’s return to the U.S. presidency.

She emphasized the need to be aware of potential sanctions due to “de-dollarization” and pointed out that trade among BRICS countries remains limited and overly dependent on China. She advocated for diversifying partnerships to strengthen Brazil and highlighted the importance of using the BRICS platform to lead discussions on climate and energy, especially at COP30.
