The BRICS Policy Center has the pleasure to invite to the colloquium “O Poder das Percepções e o Brasil no Cenário Internacional”, to be held on April 11th, 2017, at 4 p.m at the Center’s library. The event is based on the work of Débora Terra (Universidade de Lisboa), a visiting researcher at BPC through the program Power and Region in a Multipolar World (PRIMO). The colloquium will have the participation of Prof. Andrea Ribeiro Hoffmann, from the International Relations Institute of PUC-Rio, as discussant.
Considering the current world order and its transformations, particularly the Brazilian domestic scenario, the external perceptions become relevant and can be used to legitimate Brazil’s role in the world scenario. Through this perspective, Débora Terra will discuss the main themes related to the ideia of perceptions, including what perceptions really are, how they can relate fo International Relations and the Foreign Policyand how they help in the comprehension of Brazil in the international scenario.
The colloquium will be held in Portuguese and there will be no simultaneus translation.
