Short Bio:

Claudia is a doctoral student of Professor Jude Howell and Professor Kathryn Hochstetler at the International Development department at the London School of Economics and Political Science. Her dissertation examines the politics of environmental cooperation between Brazil and European donors. Analyzing the evolution of rainforest aid from the Pilot Program to Conserve the Brazilian Rain Forest (PPG7) to the Amazon Fund, the dissertation analyzes the effects of changing North-South relations and international frameworks from conservation of biodiversity towards carbon emissions reductions. Claudia holds an M.A. in Sociology from the New School for Social Research, New York, where she worked on transnational public spheres and social movements. She also holds an M.A. from the Technical University Dresden, where she wrote her thesis on the Aid Effectiveness Agenda. Before starting her dissertation at LSE, Claudia worked in political education and advocacy at the Rosa Luxemburg Stiftung—New York Office, managing programs at the United Nations Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues and the UN Commission on the Status of Women amongst others, and in partnership with universities, international civil society activists, and organizations.
