Short Bio:

Markus A. Kirchschlager is a PhD candidate at Georg-August-Universität Göttingen, Germany and a Junior Researcher at the GIGA Institute of Middle East Studies, which is part of the German Institute of Global and Area Studies in Hamburg, Germany. His research deals with regional patterns of international conflict mediation. At BPC he worked in the framework of the Global South Unit for Mediation (GSUM) with a special focus on Latin American characteristics of inter-state and intrastate conflict mediation.
